The purpose of Focus Your Money is to do a personal budget. We sit down with the client and go through a very detailed and comprehensive personal budget. The amount of detail is paramount. We do not leave anything uncovered. It is the client?s personal budget. No generic figures are used. We walk through the budgeting process to see if there is a deficit or surplus. Either one, we can help, to a degree. If the client has a surplus income more than likely the surplus is gone and clients have no idea where it is been spent. Most people don?t budget so consequently they have no idea where their money is going from week to week, month to month. We have a chemical reaction in our bodies that we spend as much as we earn. We let money control our lives rather than we control the money. Focus your money will provide those tools for the client to become more focused in staying in control of their spending habits. We meet with the client at least 6 times through out the 12 months. The meetings will consist of the following: - How is the budget? Compare actual versus budget - Adjustments that need to be made - Discuss future financial goals - home purchase, second home - Reiterate the importance of staying on track. - Keeping focused and helping the client to remain positive and focused on their financial goals. Client will have access to us if need be. If they are contemplating a major purchase, this will give them the opportunity to discuss e.g. purchase of a car etc. Most people update their car without weighing up options. Their purchasing is done with emotion rather than financial benefits. Most people through my experience in the finance industry deal with finance in an emotional way and they tend to remove the commonsense rational approach. Focus your money will deliver that approach in a simple easy format for the client to comprehend and understand.
