Dr Chris Rogers is an specialist in Laser Refractive Surgery and is currently practicing out of the laser eye surgery Chatswood Eye Institute, and is the Alternate Medical Director of the Vision Group. A corneal specialist, Dr Rogers has a particular interest in laser refractive surgery and brought the first Excimer laser used for refractive surgery into Australia in 1991. Dr Rogers is a graduate in Medicine from the University of Sydney. Following his training, he did a Corneal Fellowship and then was a Lecturer in Ophthalmology at the University of Sydney. During the 90s, Dr Rogers was a consultant to Summit Technology and advised on the development of the Excimer laser as well as the development of laser algorithms. He continued his consultant work with the development of the Autonomous Technology laser. He is currently on the Global Medical Advisory Board of Abbott who manufacture the VISX laser and the IntraLase.
