The Couture Service offered by Judy Medway Bridal & Eveningwear is for individually designed, bridal and evening gowns. This service is by appointment only, assuring you of Judy's full attention and personalised service. A couture gown is booked 6 to 12 months prior to the date. There is an initial appointment where the design and fabrics are discussed and chosen. This is followed with a series of fittings, including a calico sample of the gown, which is done to ensure that the design and proportions are correct, before proceeding to the actual fabric. The client has a lot of input into her gown, as the gown is made in stages. Couture gowns are made to your measurements. Judy will ensure your gown is faithful to the design you have envisaged and capture the mood you wish to create. Judy designs for the client, creating one-off dresses rather than repeat designs. Most importantly her designs are a reflection of the bride's personality, which play an important part in the designing of the gown. Some brides want something very simple and elegant, others prefer a softer or more romantic feel, so designs are adapted to suit the client, enhancing her best features and toning down her troubled areas. Attention is paid to the fit and cut of each gown to complement the bride's figure. Every gown is going to be individual because every bride is unique. Fashion has long been a passion of Judy Medway, having over 22 years experience in couture and 4 years of extensive formal training in all aspects of couture - from garment design, pattern making to final fit, fabric embellishing and design as well as fabric dyeing. Judy's studies of the history of costume and design allow her to draw on fashionable silhouettes and design detail of past decades. The Judy Medway Online Store offers a selection of exclusive garments, jewellery, accessories, children's special ocassionwear, shoes, fabrics and gifts. Some items are readymade while other items can be made to order.
