Situated in the historic village of Coopernook, McGowans is 20klms north of Taree and 50klms from Port Macquarie. Designed as a couples retreat, it may be a welcome interlude on your journey north or south or make it your destination for a peaceful weekend. There are beautiful beaches, rivers and the great dividing range to explore while you are here. McGowans is one of the oldest homes in the area with 12 foot ceilings and wood paneled rooms dating back to 1910. The suites are large and comfortable, both with ensuites and enough room to relax if you wish to simply enjoy the house. Salli and Ken, the hosts of McGowans, are known for their hospitality and love of good food, their preference being fresh, organic and local produce. There are great restaurants just a short drive away or, if you wish to stay in, have Ken and Sal cook something special for dinner. McGowans is a perfect location for a special occasion, wedding celebration, birthday, anniversary or a well needed rest from a busy life. Harrington Beach or Crowdy Head are just down the road for a long walk or swim or take an early morning walk in the Cattai wetlands to watch the birds. - Opening Hours:
