I have recently seen an increase in the demand of families looking for cost effective, extra care services for their elderly loved one within their own home or within a residential aged care facilities. To meet this demand, I have recently added a new component to my business - an online carers community; www.carersnetwork.com.au I have set up a data base for self employed carers to register their details- such as qualifications, police checks, education, availability and desired geographical areas for work. I then match carers looking for work to elderly individuals who require a carer or companion. I differ from other private aged care providers as I am not an agency. I offer an introduction service between those who are looking for work and those who require care. My clients are generally families of elderly people who are searching for extra help looking after their older parents or relatives. After I make an appropriate match, I then organise an interview between the family and the carer. If the carer is suitable, the family can employ the carer on their own terms, at a rate that is mutually agreed between the carer and the client. The advantages of this system are: *Seniors can be cared for in the environment of their choice, whether that is at home or an aged care facility. *Care can be designed around the seniors needs and goals *Care is more flexible. Families interview and choose the best caregiver for their elderly loved one *It is very cost effective. After caregiver placement, families only pay for the front-line care giving service that their loved one receives. There are no ongoing ?agency fees" which can often double the hourly rate a family would otherwise pay *A continuity of care develops as carers or companions become part of the family and their loved ones circle of care. *It saves you time and energy, while reducing your stress - We do all the legwork to locate and screen suitable carers for you.
