Hampton Homestead has a rich and varied history and occupies the site of an earlier weatherboard inn called the Imperial Halfway House, which was coach stop and popular resting place for travellers and their horses. It is situated in Hampton in a lush green rural atmosphere away from many demands of modern life half way between Mount Victoria and Jenolan Caves.On over 30 acres of land with a spring fed dam, Hampton Homestead also provides a farm stay style experience. Guests can watch or participate in the morning feeding of the goats, sheep and poultry, eat delicious golden-yellow farm fresh free range eggs for breakfast, and dine in, any night of the week.In the 1920s extension to the stone house are three en-suite rooms, 2 Queen and 1 King split all with separate bathrooms with deep clawfoot baths and views. All rooms have electric blankets, TV, DVD, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers, ironing facilities and heated towel rails. In the warm months all rooms have electric fans, and for those cold days, the house is centrally heated with an open fire in the stone cottage, plus a slow combustion fire. On the northern is an enclosed veranda with room to rest and rejuvenate, perhaps read, or find time to explore the property and take in its great views and wildlife.
