The Carriages Guest House is perfectly positioned in the centre of Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley wine country, one Australia's premium wine growing districts. The Carriages offers it guests an opportunity to enjoy the tranquillity of an elegant country house amongst beautiful gardens surrounded by many famous vineyards and superb restaurants, including Roberts of Pepper Tree just a short stroll to the property next door.Six of eight suites in the main building are luxuriously appointed with their own open fireplace and all are decorated in antique country pine furniture, squashy sofas and comfy beds with feather doonas in true guest house style although every modern convenience is also included just for your comfort.The Gatehouse is a separate cottage style building with two very private spa suites separated by a beautifully decorated sitting room with an open fireplace and a full kitchen. The Gatehouse is built for the discerning traveller with five star taste and is an adults only retreat.The Carriages also produces award winning Chardonnay and Shiraz wine which is available for tasting to our guests.
