Women of all ages like to belly dance and Josefina is an experienced oriental dance teacher who has been teaching on Sydney's Northern Beaches for over ten years. She has experience in both folkloric and oriental dance styles of this ancient dance style. It's a lot of fun and woman often come along to class by themselves or bring a group of friends to make it even more fun! Long-term friendships are often formed in her classes. Belly dance is gentle on the body, great for toning and conditioning muscles and certainly improves one's fitness level. It's also ideal for building self-confidence and empowering women. Opportunities exist for women who like to perform and there is certainly no pressure for those who don't like to perform. Josefina incorporates veil, cane, shamadan, zills, wings and other props into her choreographies so students get the opportunity to learn how to use these props in their dance routines and also the relevance of these props. Choreographies are used to help students understand how and when to use the various moves taught in class. Belly dance can be taken into schools to improve children's fitness and teach them the history of the dance. Children's birthday parties are always a hit with a belly dancer. They get to dress up, play games and have a lot of fun with their friends. Josefina is available to dance at your next function.
