Cooking Classes and Catering. When people ask me what I do, I say I teach people to be at ease in the kitchen. The kitchen can be an intimidating place for many of us, so I try my best to create a casual learning environment where people can just relax and be themselves. My approach to teaching dates back to age seven when I first witnessed Keith Floyd, the British celebrity chef in action. Floyd had a theatrical cooking style; utensil in one hand, glass of wine in the other. His relaxed yet engaging approach drew all types of people into cooking and instilled a desire in me to make people feel equally at ease and engaged in the kitchen. My inspiration was cemented, yet I needed practice. I began hosting monthly dinner parties for strangers I had just met. While the food was forever praised, what brought the strangers back month after month was observing someone so comfortable (and entertaining) in the kitchen. So, in 2010, after many new friends and countless dishwasher loads later, DAN the MAN Cooking was born.
