At ZEST Dementia and Aged Care we are dedicated to promoting quality care for people living with dementia by providing meaningful activities and resources that complement everyday nursing care and helps to maintain dignity and quality of life. While, there are many aspects of Dementia care that make up quality care, our role is to provide meaningful activities and pastimes that will complement every day nursing care and help maintain dignity and quality of life. Activities are an extremely important and often overlooked aspect of Dementia care and many concerning behaviors displayed by people living with Dementia are related to unmet needs, which may be as a result of boredom, loneliness or a lack of meaningful activities to fulfill their day. In some instances medication is used to control these behaviors, but in many cases there is little or no improvement, often just complicating the situation even more. Our products have been selected to specifically cater for the unique needs of people living with Dementia and to assist them to carry out their lives as normally as possible, while maintaining dignity and quality of life. We realise that selecting an appropriate activity may be difficult and we encourage you to read the information on Understanding Dementia?
