Description:
I am a Brisbane-based Occupational Therapist, specialising in workplace injury management and prevention. I consult to individuals and businesses with a focus on creating healthy workplaces through improved ergonomics and developing healthy work habits. I also provide Case Management to workers who have sustained psychological or physical injury (work or non-work related). My focus is to minimise the impact of injury for the worker and other key parties. Other services include: - Ergonomic Work Station Assessments (preventative) - home and office, for individuals or groups Your work station and job demands will be reviewed to ensure that your work habits and work posture are appropriate. Adjustment of equipment or furniture may take place at the time of assessment. You will be given advice on how to better improve your work habits and posture, and you will be provided with information to help you maintain these. A report is provided following the assessment which will outline any recommendations - including any need for equipment or other modifications. - Manual Handling Training This is usually undertaken as a group. Includes a 30 to 60 minute seminar on manual handling principals, followed by a practical session. The training package is tailored to the individual physical demands of the workplace. - Comprehensive Workstation Assessment Involves a review of your work area as per the preventative workstation assessment, with a view to manage symptoms and enable you to continue working. - Worksite and Initial Needs Assessments A comprehensive assessment of an injured employee's medical history, and current symptoms for the purpose of making recommendations about rehabiltation requirements for a safe and timely return to work. Best requested by an employer to determine when and how an injured worker can return to work, either to perform modified or pre-injury duties.
