Description:
The early 1920s saw the Greek community flourish within the suburbs of West End and South Brisbane. In 1944 the St George Greek Community was officially formed. The Greek Orthodox church which sits next door was built in 1960 and the Greek Community Centre followed in 1975. The Greek Club itself opened its doors in 1971 and was known as a meeting place for Greek Community members, as well as the must have venue for weddings or the christening of a new child. While The Greek Club still remains a strong part of the Greek community, and large weddings and christenings are still commonplace, times have changed significantly and the Club is now a hotspot for people from all nationalities and walks of life. What they all share is a love for great food and entertainment, and The Greek Club delivers every time. Located on Musgrave Park in South Brisbane, the club is situated near both the West End and Southbank Parklands. The Greek Club is recognised as one of Brisbane's leading event and function companies. Renowned for its outstanding hospitality and formidable service, The Greek Club is a premier location for weddings, business and private functions. Governed by a board of directors and run by a team of hospitality experts, The Greek Club is a non-for-profit membership based organisation.
