Calisthenics is an artistic sport unique to Australia and combines aspects of dance, gymnastics, singing, apparatus manipulation and ballet. Calisthenics involves a team of participants learning routines choreographed to music and presenting these routines on stage at competitions and concerts. Calisthenics can be categorised as both a sport and an art. As a sport it encourages physical development, coordination, self-discipline and team spirit. As an art it develops an appreciation of music and rhythm, the beauty of correct technique and the excitement of performing. What is Allstars Calisthenics Academy Inc? Allstars Calisthenics Academy is a not for profit incorporation. The Club opened in 2009 on the Sunshine Coast. Classes are held at the Kawana Tennis Centre in the Clubhouse hall, Iluka Avenue, Buddina. We run competitive classes for all ages from 4 years to 16 years of age and welcome girls both with and without prior dance experience. Come and try calisthenics at the Kawana Tennis Centre.
