Yoga Life Works is a boutique yoga studio in Tingalpa, Brisbane teaching Hatha yoga in the Svaroopa style - it's not about intense stretching or learning to stand on your head - it's about deep & core openings in your spine. By using simple movements, deep breathing & full support of your body with props like blankets & blocks, you are held in precise alignment & encouraged to become more open and flexible. Each class includes a guided awareness & relaxation, breathing & yoga poses. There is no prior experience needed & beginner's welcome! We also offer Embodyment - a hands-on, gentle remedial therapy based on the principles of Yoga that releases deep layers of muscular tension from the coccyx, sacrum & entire spine. to open, heal & re-align the whole body. LYNNE'S STORY I first came to yoga after a car accident in which I injured my back about 10 years ago. I tried almost every modality available to try & rid myself of the pain & nothing seemed to really help. My journey eventually led me to my first yoga class in the Svaroopa style & thought "Why am I lying here? Nothing seems to be happening! I can do this at home!" Much to my surprise, I got up after the class & felt very different. My back was softer somehow, tingling & there was a sense of lightness & length that I'd never felt before. My pain was less than half of what it was before the class. I went back to class again & my lower back pain continued to improve. In a matter of weeks, I was pain-free & feeling wonderful! Since then, yoga continues to help me in my daily life & grow as a person, a teacher, a wife & a mother. My posture has improved & my sway back is a thing of the past. I stand & walk taller and my thinking is more focused & I feel more balanced & centred. I love Svaroopa Yoga & teaching yoga & I love playing a small part of the journey to better heal & happiness for my students. I've been teaching yoga in Brisbane for 10 years.
