A Bowen Therapy treatment consists of a series of gentle rolling moves over tendons & muscles using a light touch. Short pauses between sets of moves allows time for the body to process & benefit from the moves. The Therapist uses fingers and thumbs to move the skin & underlying structures to free the fascia (connective tissue) to allow nutrients, oxygen, blood , nerves & lymph to move freely through the body. This enables the body to return to normal status to function free of pain, discomfort & tension. Rapid results are common, so you don't have to spend money on long drawn out treatments. Most injuries & pain respond in 2 or 3 sessions. Clients usually experience a deep & long lasting relief, even from long standing injury or pain. It can be done through clothes, although denim & shiny materials are not easy to work through. Bowen Therapy improves circulation, lymphatic drainage, uptake of nutrients & elimination of toxins & waste material. It improves joint mobility & posture. It helps relieve pain and reduce stress & is gentle enough for the newborn through to the frail elderly. In my Practice I take an Holistic approach to your health and believe in looking at the causes of your problem.
