I provide home based tuition for children with dyslexia and other learning difficulties. My priority in teaching is to build a strong relationship with the young person that I work with, to build their self esteem and to create a sense of fun in the work we do together. My tutoring program is based on the Hickey Multi-sensory Literacy Program. The program is research-based and is an internationally respected model for teaching literacy to students with dyslexia. Children with specific learning difficulties respond well to individual tutoring. Lessons are individual, one hour in duration and generally in my home. Sessions can be after school, early morning or as negotiated. Parents are encouraged to stay and observe, particularly in the early stages. Fees are $52 per hour. I have more than 10 years experience as a tutor and am a former classroom teacher and teacher librarian. - Additional Information:
