I offer clinical interventions to assist clients to make sense of their suffering during major life course transitions or critical life events through greater self-awareness and understanding. I coach clients coping and managing skills so that they can become more resourceful and resilient at challenging times, and live a more fulfilling life. Overcoming writer's block I am an award-winning author, educator and sociologist (with a PhD in sociology from University of Michigan) as well as a psychotherapist, counsellor and life coach (with specialising training in psychotherapy and couples/family therapy). My specialised areas have been in family/relationship studies and individual life course transitions, planning and management in diverse cultural/sub-cultural settings. I have published widely over the last two decades in these areas. My recent book, "Making a Meal of It -- Sex in Chinese and Western Cultural Settings" (2011, Outskirts Press) is the sole winner of The Best Books 2011 Awards for the category of Health: Sex and Sexuality as well as a winner of The 2011 Reader Views Literary Awards for the category of Humanities. I am bilingual in English and Chinese-Mandarin. My fees are based on a sliding scale. I can see clients every day by appointment (including after hours appointments in the evenings or on weekends.
