Description:
We bring together medical and non-medical treatments that are proven to be the most effective available for persistent and chronic pain in a personalised treatment plan. We manage patients with Neuropathic Pain of all types, Interventional Management of Back and Neck Pain, Advanced Pain Therapies and Self Management Therapies. Selected patients may also be suitable for Inpatient Infusion techniques. Pain Matrix currently has three highly experienced Pain Specialists consulting in our rooms. They are as follows: Dr Diarmuid McCoy: Dr McCoy has been a Clinical Director of the Pain Management Unit at Barwon Health since 2004, and is now a Director with Pain Matrix. He is also a Senior Lecturer at Deakin University Medical School and a fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine at ANZCA. Dr Michael Vagg: As well as being a Director with Pain Matrix, Dr Vagg is also a fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of ANZCA. He is a Visiting Medical Specialist at Barwon Health Pain Management Unit and also holds a position as Clinical Senior Lecturer in Musculoskeletal Medicine at Deakin University School of Medicine. Dr Brett Chandler: Dr Chandler is a Pain Specialist and Director with Pain Matrix. In addition to his work at Pain Matrix, Brett also consults as a Visiting Medical Officer in Anaesthetics and as a Specialist Pain Medicine Physician to Barwon Health and is involved in teaching medical students, Anaesthetic registrars and Pain Fellows. Pain Matrix welcomes comprehensive referral documentation, as this will ensure a smoother booking process for all involved. We are also delighted to announce the arrival of Clinical Psychologist, Emma Musella. Emma joins our current Psychologist Jenny Bravin & Physiotherapist Lucy Schipanski. Emma, Jenny and Lucy are all registered providers with Medicare, TAC, Worksafe, DVA and Private Health insurance.
