At the Mornington Peninsula Headache clinic we specialise in the accurate assessment and diagnosis of headache and migraine conditions for those experiencing or affected by headache and migraine. We aim to identify the cause and potential triggers that create your pain pattern and ultimately rule out the neck as a potential pain generating structure contributing to your headache and migraine. There is no manipulation or rapid rotating techniques. Often headaches and migraine sufferers have had headaches and migraines presenting for years and they may have had all or most of the investigations only to be told that the findings were inconclusive. Following advice and education from the medical profession, medications, cognitive behavioural therapy, and many other options have been presented with little or no change. In some cases and in the early stages of treatment the symptoms may well have reduced however more often they return and there are no other options are available. Now there is a solution. You need not look any further. Latest research indicates the involvement of the neck (upper cervical joints) as a major contributing factor (In cases where all other scans and tests are clear). At the Mornington Peninsula Headache clinic we believe an over sensitisation of the lower brain stem (trigemino cervical nucleus) is the main driver and contributor to headache and migraine. Dysfunction in the upper 3 joints in the neck causes an increased sensitisation leading to pain. Following an accurate assessment we are able to determine which joints are contributing to this phenomenon. As a result we may be able to de-sensitise the brain stem and effectively remove the cause resulting in, at the least a reduction in symptoms and in many cases where the neck is involved we may even abolish the headache /migraine completely.
