Il Gambero is an icon in Lygon Street and has been satisfying the diners of Melbourne for more than 30 years. A dramatic fire in August 2009 forced the restaurant to close its doors for a period of time but it has now reopened just down the road, across from the park offering the same great experience that Melburnian's have grown to expect in a more modern and larger premises with a fancier name - Il Gambero on the Park. Known for a large menu including pizza, pasta, seafood and steak choices, as well as excellent DiMattina coffee, they pride themselves on good "old fashioned" service and friendly atmosphere.
