Izakaya Den's basement space is packed most nights with diners sharing Japanese tapas plates and sampling imported Japanese beers, sake, umeshu and shochu. Owned by Simon Denton, of Verge fame, along with Miyuki Nakahara and Takashi Omi, the decor is stark but comfortable with exposed beams, marble tables and projected specials on the main wall providing bursts of colour.
