Cottesloe Designer Chris Maple works as an independent furniture designer and producer. Specializes in custom made furniture since completing a furniture /industrial design course at WA school of art and design in 2001. Drawing inspiration from both natural and man-made objects, Chris uses a variety of materials and techniques. He started using concrete as an affordable alternative to granite and marble and now it makes up half his design work. Concrete is moulded and tinted to your desired colour specifications and is has excellent durability to with stand the elements. Talented and skilled in many areas from welding, cabinetmaking. Building storage units, sculpture to designing and making all aspects of modern contemporary bathrooms and kitchens, skilled in making good use of all spaces. Working on commissioned pieces, such as the beautiful highly polished stainless steel and mirror dining table 'Echo' with its laser cut and hand moulded legs and cast ball and claw feet. The contemporary 'Mouth-O-Mighty' aluminum bar stool, and the concrete 'Pierce' and 'Moon' coffee tables. Reception Desk, ' Dali' and 'Baby Dali' side units in concrete and stainless steel. Beautiful and sleek Sheoak and glass consoles 'Curve' also available in coloured stained pine. Robust moulded concrete tables for outdoor or inside available with stainless steel legs or powder coated colours. 'Cuttlefish' powder coated steel with mesh and glass top hall tables.
