I would like to inform you that I engaged the services of Aztec Plumbing Services on the 19th of June to repair a leak in my shower. Apparently the issue was due to a defective washer which was replaced and for which the plumber charged us $ 160. However, within a short span of 4 weeks, the leak started again. My wife contacted Aztec and informed them of this problem. The person she spoke to informed her that someone would be sent over to have a look and because it was a recent repair, no money would be charged. This morning (3rd August) a plumber named Gary from Aztec turned up at 9 am to have a look at the problem. Noticing the leak, he changed the washer again and then informed my wife (I was away at work) that she must pay $ 110 because the washer had been damaged by us. When my wife asked him how could we have damaged the washer in such a short span of time, he started yelling at her and becoming aggressive. She also detected alcohol on his breath. I asked her to pass her phone to the plumber so that I could try and reason with him. I had only asked him as to why he was asking us to pay when we were informed a day earlier that no payment would be charged, he flung her phone, narrowly missing her face. He was continuing to yell abuse which I could hear over the phone. When my wife came on the line again, she was quivering and I asked her to call the police. However, she felt he would get more aggressive and felt that we should pay him instead. In the meantime, Gary had proceeded back to the bathroom and removed both taps. He then left yelling more abuse and also used racist words against my wife (we are of Indian origin). My wife is traumatised and I am unable to believe that I have encountered my first such incident in Australia since I moved here 12 years ago. Personally, I am not expecting any action against this plumbing service but I thought I would let you know so that others can be warned.

If Aztec Plumbing had any moral compass, Gary should be made to apologise and then refund both amounts paid.
