When is a pool safety certificate required?
1. Buy or selling a property with a swimming pool or spa.
- if your buying or selling a property with a pool or a spa, a pool safety certificate a pool safety certificate must be current at the time of settlement or the new owner must gain the certificate within 90 days of the properties settlement date.

2. Renting or leasing a property with a swimming pool or spa.
- rental properties with a swimming pool or spa must have a current pool safety certificate before a lease can be signed on a property.

How long do pool safety certificates last in Queensland?

Non-Shared Pools: Pool safety certificates for private non-shared pools are valid for a period of 2 years from the issue date.

Shared Pools: Pool Safety Certificates for shared pool (body corporates, resorts, motels ect) are valid for a period of 12 months and should not be allowed to expire.
