We all experience pain. However, because everyone is unique and special, we all feel pain differently. When unexpected trials arise, dont feel alone, you have the right to be listened to and respected. Counselling will provide a safe and confidential place for you to work through difficult times and experiences. What to expect In a safe, confidential and attentive environment, you will be heard, supported and encouraged to explore and understand issues in your life, to grow through them, to come to a sense of resolution and to recognise your innate ability to heal. What happens at the first session? By the end of the first session you may decide that: no further counselling is required at this time. You may have been able to clarify your concerns at the first session, or, further sessions will be helpful to continue to explore the issues before reaching a decision, or, alternative services will be more appropriate. In this case, I will assist you to identify specific resources or services to consider. My qualifications include: Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology), University of New England. Graduate Diploma in Counselling, University of New England. Diploma of Community Services (Welfare), Ultimo TAFE. Person Centred Therapy The core of my work is based on the Person-Centred approach, that is, the research and theories presented by Carl Rogers. He proposed the notion that effective therapy is dependant on three factors: unconditional positive regard, empathy and congruence.
