- Description:
The Tobacco Free program is designed for people living with mental illness who wish to quit or reduce their tobacco use. We run a 10 week course designed to inform and support people with mental illness in their attempt to quit or cut down. These groups run for 2hrs a week and have a break at half way where tea, coffee, and light refreshments are provided. The groups are both informative and supportive. Participants will receive a free box of NRT after attending group for 3 weeks and making a commitment to cut down. As a part of the program we also travel to different services and organisations and offer half an hour information sessions about tobacco and mental illness for carers, health professionals and people living with mental illness. These information sessions are a relaxed and friendly conversation about tobacco.
