The Historic Shirley Hotel was first established in 1886 when Bethungra was a busy railway town. It is situated in the village of Bethungra on the Olympic Highway, 69 kilometres north of Wagga Wagga and 23 kilometres south of Cootamundra. The hotel is built of locally quarried stone. All rooms have unique, high and decorative ceilings. There are 13 bedrooms for guests, several dining rooms, two lounge rooms, a function center, a reception room, verandahs on three sides of the hotel and lovely gardens around the back.
