CREATIVE DANCE CLASSES FOR KIDS Surry Dance offers innovative dance classes for kids, teens, and adults starting at age 5. The classes are held on the body-safe and kid-friendly sprung floor of the Surry Hills Community Centre. They are fun, inspiring, and active! Students will move - not only in their bodies - but with their hearts and minds. Charemaine Seet will present a cutting edge style of dance developed in London and New York City - a dynamic blend of modern and ballet, infused with movement disciplines from around the globe: Capoeira, Hip Hop, Tai Chi, and Yoga. Classes are taught with an artistic sensibility and sound technique grounded in the principles of contemporary dance. Real Dance - Real Training - Real Technique. Charemaine Seet has a successful international career. She been a soloist and principal dancer in dance companies in London and New York and performed at the South Bank Centre, the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, the Joyce Theatre, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and Dance Theater Workshop in New York. She utilises the real-world training and techniques from her performance career in her classes. Charemaine has taught dance for 10 years and was a key member of Union Dance's renowned education programme in the UK. She was instrumental in developing Union's innovative teaching style. Charemaine received her BA in dance from the London Contemporary Dance School and was a scholarship student at the Merce Cunningham Dance Studio in NYC.
