Whitbread Insurance Brokers was founded in 1978, with a simple vision ? to bring clients an Australian-owned insurance broker with the kind of integrity, skill and passion for excellence that creates enduring partnerships. Nearly 35 years later, we feel privileged to be able to offer this same commitment to our clients. However, we have not stood still. Whilst much of our success is built on our history, we have recognised the need to both reinvent and reinvest for the future. Over the last two years we have been pursuing our strategic objectives of being a trusted advisor to our clients and maintaining a high performance workplace culture. Whilst our business focus is on continually meeting the diverse and changing insurance needs of our clients, our social focus is on contributing to social change in the communities in which we live and work. Whitbread donates 10% of the company's before tax profit annually to a charitable foundation established in honour of the company founders, the late John and Margaret Whitbread, who were great believers in charitable giving. Whitbread employees actively participate in the Whitbread Community Engagement program which provides opportunities to be socially responsible and actively participate in the community. In 2012, the Whitbread Foundation donated over $425,000 to charities such as The Hunger Project, Anglicare Victoria, Melbourne City Mission, Very Special Kids and the Starlight Foundation.
