Embrace Midwifery was born in January 2012 and aims to offer all women the chance to experience a safe and emotionally satisfying pregnancy and birth. Embrace is the first and currently the only, accredited Private Midwifery Practice servicing Bundaberg and the surrounding areas. We create tailor made care programmes for each expectant mother in order to address your individual needs, hopes and desires. This ensures that your journey through pregnancy and childbirth is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We offer a complete midwifery continuity of care model that ensures each of your antenatal and postnatal appointments, as well as your birth, are hosted by the same Midwife. This model allows you and your family to build a relationship with your midwife during the antenatal period and thus facilitates a more calm and relaxed birthing experience where you feel empowered and confident in the choices you have made. Antenatal visits can be conducted either in your own home or in the Embrace office, at times to suit you. These appointments will give you the chance to express your thoughts and feelings about the changes in your body as well as giving your midwife the opportunity to complete a physical and emotional evaluation of you and your baby. Education will be provided throughout your pregnancy to ensure that by the time your baby is imminent you feel thoroughly prepared. Birthing services will be provided at Bundaberg Base Hospital. Postnatal visits will be attended to at your home, these visits will ensure that you and your baby are physically well and that you and your family are settling into your new roles. Medicare rebates are available for all visits including the birth, as such we are confident that you will find this service a very affordable option. Pregnancy and childbirth are essentially normal? life events and women?s bodies adapt well to the changes that occur during this time.
