Athletic Dreaming is an alternative approach to representing and supporting the development of young Indigenous athletes; an independent, home-based yet mobile sports consultancy business. The business idea surfaced during the year 2004; an opportunity and consideration given to utilising ones sports administrative skills, industry knowledge and personal experiences, as a way of providing an alternative support service for the Indigenous communities around the country and to improving the quality of life for individuals. With 10 years history and exposure of the sports & wellness industry having worked in a sport and recreational officer and advisory capacity experience had found that there was always a gap or limitation to the kind of essential assistance available, in supporting potential sporting talent or aspiring athletes. With sports consultancy as a fundamental aspect in the day-to-day operations, Athletic Dreaming hopes to achieve the following Business Outcomes:- Recognise the sporting abilities of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people Promote cultural awareness in an active learning environment Generate a financial capacity to sponsor grass-roots level activities and programs, where Government funding is not normally supported, or because of budgetary constraints Create a financial avenue to support families or individuals, whom are unable to afford sporting fees, uniforms, team representation, coaching clinics, sports carnival attendances, etc, etc Assist in creating an environment that increases the participation of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people
