Description:
King Cole Kindergarten is unique! Our kindergarten is the only one in Townsville to provide a service for children aged 2 years to 6 years. Youll find us at 33 McAlister Street, Oonoonba, Townsville. We offer two groups. The Tadpoles attend on one or two days on Tuesday and/or Thursday. Our group size is 16 children. These children are aged from 2 years 6 months to 3 years 364 days (provided your child is fully toilet trained). The Frogs attend on one to three days on Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday. Our group size is 21 children. These children are aged 3 years to a maximum of 6 years. Our day begins at 9:00am and finishes at 1:00pm, Monday to Friday. We operate during the state school terms. We are open on state school student free days but not on public holidays. We start our day with outdoor play in our backyard. Children can play on the fort, swings, in the sandpit, paint or play with craft, games or equipment that changes each week depending on the theme or time of year. Indoor time is inside our cottage like building. Inside activities can include experimenting with art and craft, role playing in our home corner, block and building time. We finish our day with songs and stories as a group on the mat. The program is designed to develop social interactions in a caring and supportive environment. We eat morning tea and lunch during two breaks while at the kindy. Healthy food is encouraged for these meals. King Cole Kindergarten has been operating as a non-profit community centre since 1983. We are managed by a volunteer parent management committee made up of parents, guardians or carers of children who attend the kindy. We are licensed by the Queensland Government Office of Early Childhood Education and Care. As required by The Child Care Act, we employ qualified staff according to our licensing agreement. Our staff are dedicated, hardworking and caring and provide a high level of service.
