6:30-7:30pm :: Tribal Bellydance - Level 1 Beginners :: 7:30-8:30pm :: ATS Tribal Bellydance - Level 2 Intermediate :: Tribal Bellydance is both earthy and artistic, blending the folkloric movements of the Middle East and India with the sinuous elegance of contemporary dance forms. The posture is open and uplifted, grounded with strong arms, graceful movements and body alignment. Though it is a modern dance, the feeling is ancient and connected, with its vibrant costuming, music, movements and interaction between the tribe of dancers. The focus is on performing as a group rather than doing solos and the dancers are likened to a flock of birds connecting and 'talking' through the vocabulary of movements. We will break down moves and drill the basics in fun combinations with a yoga inspired cool down that will have you leaving the studio feeling energised and rejuvenated. A feeling of sisterhood and togetherness is at the heart of tribal bellydance and Opalesque utilise an extensive vocabulary of movement to create completely unique performances. The result is beauty in motion, as dancers react to the music, become empowered, connect with their fellow dancers, and create living art. All classes take place at The DANCE WORKS Studio: The studio is fully airconditioned and spacious with quality flooring and mirrors. Full amenities include a bathroom/change area, kitchen/common area and vending machines.
