Located in the heart of Sydney and Melbourne and showcased in two stunning showrooms, The National Opal Collection is a treasure trove of beautiful Australian Opals and includes souvenir items to collector's opals. The National Opal Collection is vertically integrated and able to provide opals direct from the opal mines to you. We are involved in opal mining, opal cutting, jewellery design and manufacture. Not only will you be buying with confidence at competitive prices, you will also enjoy our incredible opal museum displays. Discover the link between opals and the dinosaur. See opalized fossils of prehistoric animals and plants displayed amongst three dimensional dioramas of pre-historic Australia. The NOC has faithfully recreated the history of opal with graphic life-size dioramas of the dinosaur age. Rare opalised fossils of animals and plants are featured alongside specially sculptured and faithfully recreated life-like models of the original animals. Amongst our most important pieces is â??Nessieâ?� the opalised skeleton of a ferocious marine reptile known as a Pliosaur. These large beasts ruled the seas 100 million years ago.
