Abstars Dream Cheer & Dance Studios is the alternative to the traditional ballet school; our teaching styles are up with current dance trends and cater for 3 years to adults in a variety of dance styles. Our teachers are currently professional dancers in great demand in the commercial entertainment industry and many of our students are now earning an income doing what they love most - dancing! Our styles are as follows: - Commercial Jazz in the styles seen on music video clips e.g. Rhianna and Britney. - Hip-hop as seen in movies such as, Step Up and artists such as Justin Timberlake, Usher & Chris Brown. - Lyrical / contemporary as seen on, So You Think You Can Dance? - American style cheerleading as seen in, Bring It On - Acroflex/Tumbling - a combination of acrobatics and flexibility. Learn cartwheels, walkovers, aerials, back flips etc. Students of Abstars have performed at many charity events such as Relay for Life, DCI - Dance Cancer initiative and have performed at Emirate Stakes Day at Flemington Race Course for the young members of the Victorian Racing Club & The Late Mail Luncheon in 2013 raising money for Beyond Blue and in 2014 a few of our under 12's were asked to perform in the L'oreal Kid's Fashion Week Runway. In 2009, 2010 &, 2011 & 2012 & 2013 & 2014 Abstars won the State Hip Hop, Championships and in 2011 & 2012 & 2013 won National Championships and were selected to represent Australia in Hip Hop at the World All Star Cheer & Dance Championships in Orlando Florida in 2013. Principal of Abstars, Abby Meates has many years of professional dance and acting having appeared in numerous TV shows & Movies.
