Marieke graduated in 1993 as a Physiotherapist in the Netherlands. After practicing as a Physiotherapist she became interested in a more holistic approach to treatment and undertook her TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) study in the Netherlands and graduated as an Acupuncturist in 2000 and a Chinese Herbalist in 2001. During her study she completed part of her practical training in Beijing (China). Studying and keeping current with the latest information is a key component of running her practice business and she travels extensively to attend (international) TCM seminars and conferences. Remedial Massage Therapy is used to treat muscular-skeletal problems and creates the conditions for the bodyâ??s return to normal health after injury or chronic problems. We identify the symptoms and use several specialized techniques to locate and repair the damage. Remedial Massage Therapy supports and speeds up the bodyâ??s own repair mechanisms. Muscular and skeletal dysfunctions often addressed with remedial massage include muscle tightness and pain, arthritis, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, whiplash, neck and back pain, scoliosis, headaches and sports injuries. Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine are based on the principle that the human body circulates energy. The energy flow gives the body the ability to heal injuries continuously. If the energy flow is low or obstructed the self-healing mechanism of the body is impaired and symptoms and disease can occur. With treatment we establish a healthy flow of energy.
